D'Arcy Short scored the third-highest score in one-day cricket and the highest ever by an Australian against Queensland at Hurstville Oval on Friday in the JLT One-Day Cup.

D'Arcy Short, playing for Western Australia, became just the fourth Australian man to score a double century in one-day cricket, hammering a record total of 257 runs off 148 balls.

D'Arcy Short brought up his hundred from just 83 balls and reached his double century from just 128 deliveries. Short blasted 23 sixes during his innings. He is only the second man to hit 23 sixes in one-day cricket joining Colin Munro of New Zealand.

Short joined Ben Dunk, Phillip Hughes and Travis Head in scoring a one-day double ton on Australian soil and beat Dunk's mark of 229 not out as the highest score by an Australian crickter in one-day cricket.
