Veteran middle-order batsman Ross Taylor guided New Zealand to a comfortable six-wicket win against India at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday.

Impressed by the right-hander's knock of 95 under pressure, former Indian opener Virender Sehwag decided to congratulate the Kiwi in his own inimitable style.

"Well played @RossLTaylor Darji ji. Great effort after handling the pressure of Diwali orders," wrote Sehwag on Twitter.

The word 'darji', of course, means tailor in Hindi, and people in India tend to give tailors a lot of business around the time of Diwali.

What followed was some hilarious banter between Viru and Taylor, with the Kiwi even replying in Hindi.

"Thanks @virendersehwag bhai agli Baar Apna order time pe Bhej dena so Mai Apko agli Diwali ke pehle deliver kardunga ....happy Diwali (next time please give your order on time so that I can give you the delivery on time)," replied Taylor.

"Hahaha Masterji, is saal waali patloon hi ek bilaang choti karke dena next diwali pe. Ross the Boss, most sporting (simply reduce the length of this year's pant and give it to me next Diwali)," was Viru's prompt response.

Taylor wasn't going to give up on the conversation without putting up a fight. He asked, "Has your Darji not done a good job this Diwali?"

Sehwag, though, was always going to have the last word. "No one can match up to your high standards of stitching Darji ji, whether it is a pant or a partnership," he wrote.
