Indian captain Virat Kohli gave a first direct hint from his end that all is not well between him and former Team India head coach Anil Kumble when he deleted a tweet he had posted earlier to welcome Kumble as the coach. Earlier this week, the legendary leg-spinner resigned from his post after he was intimated by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) that Kohli had reservations about his style of functioning.

While Kumble penned an elaborate note on social media where he expressed his surprise at the turn of events, there had been absolutely nothing from Kohli that directly suggested that there was acrimony involved. That was till today.

This post has been deleted by Kohli now.

The talismanic batsman was vehement in his denial of a fall-out with Kumble at the start of the ICC Champions Trophy 2017, even blaming the media for blowing things out of proportion. But his act of deleting the warm tweet he had posted for Kumble a year ago says a lot about the duo's strained relationship. And it even tells us that Kohli wasn't really telling the truth when he tried to douse the fire at the beginning of the Champions Trophy.
