Virat Kohli is 7th biggest brand in sports, ahead of Lionel Messi

Virat Kohli certainly one of the biggest star in world cricket right now. Also, he is one of the biggest names when comes to sellability and brand value. And talking about earning, his valuation as a brand has now surpassed football icon Lionel Messi.

In the list of most valuable sportspersons released by Forbes on Wednesday, Kohli sits at No. 7 ahead of  golf superstar Rory McIlory​ at No.8 and Messi, who is at No.9.

According to the report, Kohli is ahead of Messi by $1 million in terms of earning. 

The top-10 list is headed by 19-time Grand Slam winner Roger Federer and includes just one cricketer in Kohli.

Kohli, who played his 200th one-day international recently, is have already scored 31 ODI centuries, going past Australia's Ricky Ponting and now only behind Tendulkar's 49 tons in 50-over internationals.
