Indian skipper Virat Kohli has completed nine years in international cricket, and BCCI celebrated the feat by taking fans on a nostalgic ride on Friday. BCCI tweeted a picture of Kohli sitting on the same chair on which he sat 9 years ago on his debut match.

“Few things never change – only the legend grows. #ThisDayThatYear In 2008, @imVkohli sat on this very chair during his debut game #SLvIND.”, the tweet said.

28-year-old Kohli posed for a photograph while being seated on the same chair on which he sat way back in 2008 when he made his international debut against Sri Lanka.

Kohli in his debut game (One-day International) registered 12 on board off 22 deliveries against the then Mahela Jayawardene-led Lions side, before being dismissed by fast bowler Nuwan Kulasekara.

But since then there has been no looking back for Kohli, who has has scored 8,257 runs in 181 innings of 189 matches with an average of 54.86 in the 50-over format.  His record against Sri Lanka has been very impressive as he has smashed six ODI centuries against the hosts.

India are ready to play their first of the five-match game at Dambulla on Sunday (August 20).
