Vijay Hazare Trophy: Dinesh Karthik's 95 helps Tamil Nadu cruise to second successive victory

Tamil Nadu secured a 212 runs victory in the Vijay Hazare Trophy campaign with skipper Dinesh Karthik once again leading the charge with the bat in Jaipur on Wednesday.

The wicketkeeper-batsman played a brilliant knock of 95 runs, guiding Tamil Nadu to their second successive victory after their win against Rajasthan on Tuesday.

Medium-pacer K Vignesh was also brilliant with the ball for Tamil Nadu and ended the day with five wickets after giving away 41 runs.

Services won the toss and sent Tamil Nadu to bat first. Despite getting to a bad start, losing four wickets for 55 runs after 15 overs, Tamil Nadu recovered well and posted 294/8 thanks to Dinesh Karthik and Hari Nishanth.

The pair netted together a 144-run partnership, with Nishanth scoring 73 runs off 71 delivers.

Karthik, who registered an unbeaten 50 in the last match, once again stepped up when his team needed him the most. 

The skipper's 91-ball 95 innings included eight boundaries and a maximum. 

M Mohammed also proved the Tamil Nadu side with some much needed quick runs, in the end, hitting four sixes and a boundary during his unbeaten 36-run knock off just 15 balls.
