With not many sporting events taking place - especially cricket - due to the coronavirus pandemic, cricketers are taking to social media to interact with fans.

Talking in one such interaction was former South African cricketer Jonty Rhodes who named former skipper AB de Villiers as the greatest fielder of all-time.

Talking to Zimbabwe fast bowler Pommie Mbangwa on Instagram, Rhodes revealed the name of the greatest fielder.

"The greatest fielder of time-AB de Villiers. He is a wicket-keeper. He is at slip, he fields at mid-off, long-on. The guy is the greatest of all time," Rhodes said.

Rhodes also lauded Indian batsman Suresh Raina for his fielding skills but said that AB de Villiers reads the game extremely well and that makes him best.

“I have loved Suresh Raina, but the best fielder I have seen since Jonty Rhodes has to be AB de Villiers. He moves so well. I think someone like Ben Stokes is at all the hotspots. AB de Villiers reads the game well and.. he has to be the best fielder,” Rhodes said.

As for Rhodes, he appeared for South Africa Legends side during the Road Safety World Series earlier this year and as for De Villiers, he had bid adieu to international cricket in May 2018.

The former South African captain looked to stage a comeback for the national side during the International Cricket Council (ICC) World Cup 2019 but he was not able to reach an agreement with the management.
