Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings are joint most successful teams in the Indian Premier League (IPL) having won three titles each.

Due to general elections, India's cash-rich T20 league is going to commence in March itself and not in their regular month of April.

While the exact dates of the tournament and more importantly the venue is yet to be announced, the franchises have already begun to spread the IPL fever as their healthy banter on the social media have started.

It all began when Mumbai Indians' brother duo Hardik and Krunal Pandya met their Mumbai teammate and good friend Kieron Pollard.

Hardik posted a selfie with his brother and Pollard, captioned, "I had to hold my phone pretty high to fit Big Polly into the frame Happy to see you again my brother."

Their IPL team quote-tweeted it saying, "Find a better allrounder trio. We will wait."

Just a few minutes later, 2016 champions and last year's runner's up Sunrisers Hyderabad responded to Mumbai.

Sunrisers shared a picture of their trio, Rashid Khan, Mohammad Nabi, and Shakib-Al-Hasan and said, "the wait is over."

While Sunrisers thought they had won the banter, it was the Mumbai camp who had the last laugh.

Mumbai responded to Hyderabad with a picture of their three IPL trophies and cheekily said, "The wait goes on.."

If Mumbai thought they had won the war overall, they were so wrong because Dhoni and Chennai Super Kings had the best reply of the lot.

The banter left many in splits including TV presenter Gaurav Kapur who replied to both the teams saying, "Hahaha. Shots fired. Top banter guys."
