Team India register 14th bilateral series wins in 2017 with series triumph against Sri Lanka

India won the match with a clean sweep on the T20 series against Sri Lanka.

India finished 2017 on a high note with a clean sweep on the T20 series against Sri Lanka. The year was a fruitious year for Indian cricket. The T20 series win is Team India's 14th bilateral series win. The men in blue haven’t lost a single bilateral tournament away or at home this year across all formats. 

As the year comes to a close, let's recount these wins: 

India in Tests in 2017

# India v/s Bangladesh, one-off Test, February 9-13

India won the match by 208 runs. It was Virat Kohli's double ton that guided India to a big win. 

# India v/s Australia, Border-Gavaskar Trophy, 4-Tests, February 23-March 29

India lost the first Test but went on to beat Australia in the 4-match series by 2-1. 

# India v/s Sri Lanka, 3-Tests, July 26-August 16

India won all the three matches with ease and began what would a complete whitewash of the tour. India became the first nation ever to do so in Sri Lanka.

# Sri Lanka v/s India, 3-Tests, November 16-December 6

After missing out on a win in Kolkata test, India won the next match. With the last test in Delhi also eneding in a draw, India won the series 1-0. Virat Kohli scored two consecutive double hundreds in the second and third test matches.

India in ODIs in 2017

# India v/s England, 3-ODIs, January 15-22

India won the series 2-1. It was a comeback series for Yuvraj Singh who scored his career-best score of 150 runs in Cuttack.

# India v/s West Indies, 5-ODIs, June 23-July 6

India won the series by 3-1 with Ajinkya Rahane bagging the Player of the Series. The first match was washed out.

# India v/s Sri Lanka, 5-ODIs, August 20-September 3

After the Test series, India continued their dominance and won the series 5-0. Jasprit Bumrah bagged the Player of the Tournament award.

# India v/s Australia, 5-ODIs, September 21-October 1

India won the ODI series by 4-1. After his good showing in Sri Lanka, Hardik Pandya emerged as a true match-winner bagging the Man of the Series. 

# India v/s New Zealand, 3-ODIs, October 22-29

India lost the first ODI. However, they came back to win the next two and take the series 2-1. Virat Kohli received the Man of the Series award.

# Sri Lanka v/s India, 3-ODIs, December 10-17

Rohit Sharma was in-charge in the absence of Virat Kohli. India suffered a huge loss in the first match in Dharamsala. They bounced back in Mohali with Rohit Sharma's 3rd double century in ODIs. India won the series by 2-1. 

India in T20Is in 2017

# India v/s England, 3-T20Is, January 26-February 1 

India won the series 2-1 with Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav emerging as new stars with the bowl. Chahal was awarded the Player of the Series.

# India v/s Sri Lanka, One-off T20I, September 6 

India won the match 7 wickets with Virat Kohli winning the man of the match.

# India v/s Australia, 3-T20Is, October 7-13  

Series was drawn 1-1 after the last match was washed out due to rain. 

# India v/s New Zealand, 3-T20Is, November 1-7 

Another series ended with a 1-1 result.

# India v/s Sri Lanka, 3-T20Is, December 20-24 

India managed another whitewash of the Sri Lankans. Rohit Sharma scored the joint-fastest century in T20I in the second match at Cuttack.
