The ongoing Test match between England and Sri Lanka in Galle saw batsman Kusal Mendis getting dismissed by Stuart Broad for a duck.

Unfortunately, this has been the right-handed batsman's fourth consecutive zero. This comes after Sri Lanka's series in South Africa where Mendis scored just 12 runs in four innings.

Most consecutive ducks in Tests when batting in Top 6 positions:

5 Danny Morrison

4 Pankaj Roy

4 Mohinder Amarnath

4 Mark Waugh

4 Kusal Mendis

As for the ongoing first Test, Sri Lanka had won the toss and opted to bat. Dinesh Chandimal was leading the side in the absence of Dimuth Karunaratne.

However, as soon as Kusal Mendis got out, netizens were quick to point out his poor form with the bat. While some said he has all the talent required to perform at the highest level, others wanted him out of the team.

Earlier, former Sri Lanka captain Mahela Jayawardene while speaking to England's Nasser Hussain in an interview for Daily Mail had chosen Kusal Mendis as a player to watch during the series.

"Kusal Mendis is a talent and has scored seven hundreds in his short Test career. He knows how to go big," he said.
