South Africa women's cricket team captain Dane van Niekerk marries all-rounder Marizanne Kapp

South Africa women's cricket team captain Dane van Niekerk married fast-bowling all-rounder Marizanne Kapp on Saturday. After New Zealand's Amy Satterthwaite and Lea Tahuhu, they are the second set of current international teammates to get married, reports ESPNCricinfo.

Kapp and Van Niekerk made their international debut within two days of each other to become the part of the South African team during 2009 Women's World Cup. According to the report, the duo is also the first two girls to join a boys' cricket academy in South Africa. Apart from playing for their country, the newlywed couple has also been part of Sidney Sixers in the Women's Big Bash League.

Kapp shared two images from the wedding on her Instagram account with a ring emoji making up for the caption. The wedding was y most of their South Africa teammates.

Sat under a sprawling tree the two signed their papers witnessed by teammates Lizelle Lee and Chloe Bushy Tryon. Both Kapp and Van Niekerk wore short white dresses. While the all-rounder went for a little bit of train attached to her dress, her partner and team captain chose a lacy number to wear on their big day.

Van Niekerk and Kapp are second and third highest T20I wicket-takers for the Proteas. Van Niekerk tops the chart of T20I run-getters for South Africa with 1469 runs while Kapp stands on the fifth position with 600 runs.
