SL vs IND: Chamika Karunaratne's late blitz helps hosts get past 260 as Kul-Cha share 4 wickets

Sri Lankan pacer Chamika Karunaratne's quickfire cameo of 43 runs off just 35 balls, in the end, helped his side's score to go past 260 after Indian bowlers, especially the spin trio of Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav and Krunal Pandya kept the host batsmen in check.

The last two overs yielded 32 runs in total, out of which 20 were from Karunaratne's bat and pacer Dushmantha Chameera also chipped in with a six and a four in the penultimate over bowled by Hardik Pandya as apart from the last two overs, India had the game pretty much in control.

Openers Avishka Fernando and Minod Bhanuka stitched a measured partnership of 49 runs before the returning duo of Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal made their presence felt. 

Chahal broke the opening stand to get India their first breakthrough. After the first wicket fell, the debutant Bhanuka Rajapaksa and Minod Bhanuka rotated the strike and hit some lusty blows to help the hosts coast along nicely till the time Kuldeep Yadav started to have some fun.

 Kuldeep removed both Bhanukas, one with the name and the other with the surname in space of three balls and Sri Lanka were suddenly 89/3. Skipper Dasun Shanaka and Charith Asalanka took their own sweet time and the hosts couldn't afford any more wickets. However, the run rate dropped and the visitors kept picking wickets at regular intervals.

Chahal got his second be removing Shanaka and pacer Deepak Chahar in his second spell took two crucial wickets as none of the lower-order batsmen could score much before the late blitz by the tailenders as Sri Lanka ended their innings on 262/9.
