Shikhar Dhawan joined many Indian cricketers in slammimg former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi for his comments on Kashmir. Dhawan said that Afridi should not interfere in what is happening in India and instead should look at his own country's situation first.

Dhawan asked Afridi to keep his opinions to himself.

"Pehle khudke desh ki haalat sudharo. Apni soch apne paas rakho. Apne desh ka joh hum kar rahe hai woh acha hi hai aur aage jo karna hai woh humein ache se pata hai. Zyaada dimaag mat lagao (Improve the state of affairs in your country first. Keep your views to yourself. Whatever we are doing in our country is good for us and we know what we will do in the future too. You do not need to worry about that)," Dhawan tweeted.

Several Indian cricketers have slammed Afridi after he raked up the Kashmir issue on Twitter.

Afridi had tweeted: "Appalling and worrisome situation ongoing in the 'Indian Occupied Kashmir'. Innocents being shot down by oppressive regime to clamp voice of self -determination and independence. Wonder where are the UN and other international bodies and why aren't they making efforts to stop this bloodshed?"

Sinced then, several Indian cricketers including Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, Gautam Gambhir, Kapil Dev, Mahammad Kaif and Suresh Raina have lashed out at Afridi for his tweet.

Here's what they said:

Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli was also asked about Shahid Afridi's tweet on Kashmir. While Kohli was restrained in his reaction saying he won't engage in the debate unless he had total knowledge of the issue, he made it clear that one's priority stays with your nation.

Kohli said on Wednesday: “As an Indian, you want to express what is best for your nation & my interests are always for the benefit of our nation. If anything opposes it, I would never support it for sure. But having said that, it's a very personal choice for someone to comment on certain issues. Unless I have total knowledge of the issues & the intricacies of it I don't engage in it but definitely, your priority stays with your nation.”

Sachin Tendulkar

Sachin Tendulkar said that there was no need for any outsider to know or tell us what we need to do. The batting legend said, "We have got capable people to manage and run our country. No outsider needs to know or tell us what we need to do."

Kapil Dev

Former World Cup winning skipper Kapil Dev also slammed Afridi and said: “Who is he? Why are we giving importance to him? We should not be giving importance to certain people.”

Gautam Gambhir

Gambhir was the first Indian cricketer to replay to Afridi's tweet. He tweeted on Tuesday: “Media called me for reaction on @SAfridiOfficial tweet on OUR Kashmir & @UN. What’s there to say? Afridi is only looking for @UN which in his retarded dictionary means “UNDER NINETEEN” his age bracket. Media can relax, @SAfridiOfficial is celebrating a dismissal off a no- ball!!!”

Suresh Raina

India and Chennai Super Kings player Suresh Raina also joined the debate. Raina tweeted, "Kashmir is an integral part of India and will remain so always. Kashmir is the pious land where my forefathers were born. I hope @SAfridiOfficial bhai asks Pakistan Army to stop terrorism and proxy war in our Kashmir. We want peace, not bloodshed and violence."

Mohammad Kaif

Former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif also jumped in favour of Gambhir and asked whether Afridi would make such statements if Pakistan players were allowed in the cash-rich Indian Premier League.
