39-year-old Iker Casillas decided to make the announcement of his retirement after FC Porto's Portuguese League cup win over rivals Benfica.

Team India cricketer Rohit Sharma has congratulated former Real Madrid and Spanish goalkeeper Iker Casillas for the 'glorious career' he has had over the years.
Earlier on Tuesday (August 4), the FC Porto shot-stopper had officially announced his retirement from professional football.
The 39-year-old decided to make the announcement after Porto's Portuguese League cup win.
Reacting to this news, the La Liga brand ambassador - who is also a big Real Madrid fan - showered praises over the goalkeeper and claimed that he has inspired countless young players.

Casillas played 725 matches for Real Madrid during 16 seasons in which he won 19 titles including five Spanish Leagues and three European Cups.
In Portugal, with Porto, he won 2 Portuguese Leagues and 1 Supercup.
And he has been capped by Spain 167 times, where he won a World Cup, two European Cups and an Under-20 World Cup.
