The so-called truce between Ruchir Modi, son of Lalit Modi and president of the Alwar District Association, and Dr CP Joshi, Rajasthan Cricket Association president, in the ‘interest of cricket’ has fallen apart.

The IPL has returned to Jaipur after a gap of four years but the bone of contention between the two has become expenditure incurred to refurbish the SMS Stadium. The initial tender was of Rs 2.9 crore but when company engaged for the work presented a bill of Rs 4 crore all hell broke loose in the headquarters of the gentleman’s game.

Joshi asked the two members of the Modi group to sign the bill, they refused to do so and even accused Joshi of corruption. But Joshi, on the other hand, says everything was done according to high court orders and was monitored by the BCCI. He accused the Modi group of putting unnecessary hurdles in the successful conduct of the IPL.

But Ruchir is not convinced. He says that the BCCI has not received any detailed information on stadium and renovation tender and they have not received the cost analysis of that tender. “There should be auditing of the details as per Lodha Committee Reforms. In this regard, he says that he will be filing a public interest ligtigation in a day or two as he can’t allow them (Joshi group) to commit fraud.

He even asked CP Joshi to put his signature on the bill first, then only the RCA secretary and tresurer will sign it, adding that Joshi has refused to do so.
