The guest of honour was cricketing legend Brian Lara who handed over the certificates and team jersey to all along with international greats like Carl Hooper, Ricardo Powell and Lisa Sthalekar. Also, present at the occasion was our very own Royal, Jaydev Unadkat. Launch of Royal Sparks: The trials were initiated with an attempt to witness the young ‘boys’ cricket enthusiasts, but seeing enthusiastic girls wanting to compete with the boys, Rajasthan Royals conducted open trials for girls over 3 days. The response was phenomenal and we have girls coming out in large number. After 3 days of rigorous trials, 34 of them made the cut for the ‘Royal Sparks’ team.

Royal Colts: Of the thousands of boys who turned up, 62 boys were selected as probables. They were divided into 4 teams and made to play T-20 matches against each other at the Neerja Modi School cricket facility.  Of these 62, 35 boys made the final cut and are now the Royal Colts. The selected young cricketers will now undergo training programmes designed by the expert panel of coaches at the Rajasthan Royals. Thereafter, the teams will be locking horns against other junior teams domestically and internationally.
