Rajasthan Cricket Association has submitted an undertaking to Board of Cricket Control of India, accepting the terms laid down for the board to revoke suspension of RCA. The RCA thus has reclaimed its membership that has been suspended since 2014 and is now likely to host IPL matches. However, the association needs to fulfill more conditions to be eligible for the matches.

The BCCI on Thursday submitted at the Rajasthan High Court that the Board can not enter an agreement with state government for the matches and can only sign with state cricket association in this regard. The court during last hearing in a related matter had inquired the BCCI over the demand of IPL matches being held at Rajasthan. The BCCI in its response said that the Board is open for holding matches at Rajasthan and an inspection of the SMS stadium has been held in consideration of the same. However, there were few shortcomings that needs to be sorted out and a list of these have been handed over to RCA.

RCA, meanwhile sighted issue of financial approvals required for the purpose and sought due permission of the court. The court permitted RCA to carry out the necessary works and ordered the sports council to renew the contract with RCA in case there is a possibility of IPL matches being granted to Rajasthan. A hearing in the case is now scheduled on January 5.
