India beat Bangladesh by 6 wickets in the Nidahas Trophy T20 tri-series in Colombo on Thursday. India's young bowling unit got its bearings back with a disciplined effort to restrict Bangladesh to a modest 139/8 in the second round robin league match. India then chased it with 8 balls to spare thanks to a half-century by Shikhar Dhawan.

India have done it. They win the match by 6 wickets.

'22:25

OUT

India have lost their fourth wicket. Shikhar Dhawan is gone for 55. Another good innings for the southpaw.

OUT

Rubel strikes immediately on his return to the attack. It's the short ball which does Raina in. He awkwardly fends it away on the leg side, scoops it towards Mehidy Hasan at square leg who takes a simple catch. Bangladesh have another wicket, but India are in a really comfortable

SIX

Short, flat and on the stumps, Dhawan quickly picks it up and positions himself for the big hoick. He clears the mid-wicket boundary with ease and gets a biggie to his name.

'22:04

End of 13th over. 41 runs required from 42 balls.

Shikhar is looking in great touch and it shouldn't be a problem for India.

S Dhawan 47 (34b) and SK Raina 25 (23b)

IND:  99/2

'21: 50

FOUR

Raina makes room, gets the ball in his zone, full and wide outside off. Suresh goes inside out over covers for a boundary. 59 needed of 60.

IND: 81/2 after 10 overs

21:35

SIX

50 up in style! The drop has already cost them 8 runs. Hasan floats it up on middle, Raina goes down on one knee and sends it sailing over the mid-wicket fence for a maximum.

IND: 53/2 after 6.2 overs

'21:30

FOUR

Short and pulled away! A bumper on middle, Dhwan rocks back and pulls it through mid-wicket for a boundary.

IND: 45/2 after 5.3 overs

'21:28

OUT

Another chop on and it is not a surprise seeing the nature of the wicket! Pant's promotion up the order has not worked! Once again a change of ends for a bowler works. He bowls it wide outside off, on a fuller length, the sucker ball they call it. Pant throws the kitchen sink at it but away from his body. He gets an inside edge which shatters into the stumps. The Bangladeshis are pumped and they have two in the Powerplay. They are not making it easy for India.

IND: 40/2 after 5.1 overs

'21:25

FOUR

Nicely swept! Dhawan loves to play this shot against the off spinners. Mehidy tosses it up on middle, Dhawan goes down on one knee and sweeps it through backward square leg for a boundary.

IND: 38/2 after 4.3 overs

'21:20

FOUR

Up and over! Fuller this time by Rahman, Pant flicks him over mid on to get off the mark with a boundary.

IND: 32/2 after 3.5 overs

'21:18

OUT

PLAYED ON! The change of ends for Mustafizur Rahman does the trick. Another failure for Rohit Sharma. Rahman comes running in and lands it on a length around off. Sharma tries to run it down to third man but the ball is too close to him to play that shot. He gets an inside edge which disturbs the furniture behind. A much-needed wicket for Bangladesh as these two were taking the game away from them. They would now look to pull things back a little.

IND: 28/1 after 3.3 overs

'21:15

FOUR

Bad ball and dispatched! Short and wide outside off, width on offer and Sharma pounces on it. He cuts it through point and the ball races away. India off to a flier, 123 needed now.

FOUR

Classic Rohit Sharma! A little short by Taskin on off, Rohit nonchalantly rocks back and pulls it over mid-wicket for a one bounce boundary.

FOUR

Starts from where he left off in the last game! Off the mark in style. Short and wide outside off, Dhawan guides it through point and the ball races away.

'20:50

Bangladesh post 139 runs in their innings. They kept losing wickets at regular intervals.

OUT!

Run out! Very full on the stumps, Taskin Ahmed drags it off the inner half towards long on and runs the first one hard. He wants another as well and Rubel sets off. Raina fires a flat throw to Shardul who seems to have not collected it cleanly but did well to deflect it onto the stumps at his end. They take it upstairs and replays confirm the same.

'20:40

OUT

Caught behind. Shabbir Rahman is gone. Bangladesh have lost their seventh wicket.

BAN: 134/7 after 18.5 overs

OUT

Unadkat with an excellent slower length delivery on middle and off, Mehedi Hasan backs away to have a thwack across the line but all he manages is to sky it up in the air towards long on where Manish Pandey takes it safely.

BAN: 118/6 after 16.4 overs

OUT

Chahal strikes! He comes back into the attack and breaks the stand that was starting to bloom a bit. He gives it a good flight, lands it around middle and off. Liton Das skips down the track to go big but the ball turns away a bit which made him reach out to that one. Mistimes it high in the air towards long off and Raina takes it with ease by coming a couple of steps ahead.

BAN: 107/5 after 15.1 overs

'20:00

OUT

Gone! The pressure of dot balls gets the better of the Bangladeshi skipper Mahmudullah. Back of a length delivery outside off, Mahmudullah makes room to hit it inside out but ends up slicing it towards sweeper cover where Shardul Thakur comes a couple of steps ahead and takes an easy catch. Bangladesh dent further.

BAN: 72/4 after 10.5 overs

'19:50

OUT

India have a decision in their favour. Shankar bowls it wide outside off, Rahim tries to put bat to it but manages to find the bottom edge and the ball gets into keeper's gloves. The umpire gives a not out but Karthik asks for a referral immediately. It's not a no ball and there is clear indication on the hotspot that he has edge the ball. Rahim has to go back to the pavilion.

BAN: 66/3 after 8.5 overs

'19:25

OUT

Another one at short fine leg. Tamim tries the swipe against the short ball this time. It's too quick for him and he slices a simple one for the fielder.

BAN: 35/2 after 5 overs

'19:12

OUT

Sarkar is gone. Jaydev Unadkat strikes and Bangladesh lose their first wicket.

Soumya looks to flick a length ball on the stumps over the short fine leg fielder but instead gives it into the hands of Yuzvendra Chahal.

BAN: 20/1 after 2.4 overs

'19:10

SIX

Sarkar hits the first maximum of the innings. Unadkat drags it on the legs, Soumya sees the opportunity and flicks it with some power over the fine leg boundary for the maximum.
