The newly elected chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Ehsan Mani wants the cricketing body to approach legal committee of the International Cricket Council (ICC) over the issue of bilateral with India.

"Their (Indian) policy has been overall contradicting because they are always ready to play in multinational tournaments like Asia Cup and World Cup but pull out on bilateral arrangements," Mani told reporters on Tuesday.

BCCI and PCB signed an MOU in 2014 to play six bilateral series from 2015 to 2023 that includes four home series in Pakistan. The series was cancelled by Indian cricketing body in 2014 and later in 2015. PCB claimed they suffered $70 million in losses.

According to the previous reports, BCCI rejected this claim in 2017 saying the MoU was not binding. They also pointed out the security issues in Pakistan which has been a concern for most member countries of ICC.

The matter will be heard by the ICC dispute committee from October 1-3.

"I will not request India to play with us. Their own policy has been contradictory, as they are always ready to play in multi-nation tournaments like the Asia Cup and the World Cup but renege on bilateral arrangements. So I never understood their positions and the basis of their policy. Even when I was at the ICC, they used to threaten to pull out on ICC tournaments. I told them that I could suspend their membership but in my position here, I obviously can't do that. The ICC since than has been quite different, with India's influence far greater, but I will fight Pakistan's corner," Mani told reporters at a press conference in Gaddafi Stadium on Tuesday.

Even though the two countries did not play bilateral series, they have faced off on many occasions in ICC events. They will next see each other on the pitch in UAE during the upcoming Asia Cup series.
