MS Dhoni could reach another wicketkeeping milestone as a buoyant India take on South Africa in the third ODI of the six-match series on Wednesday at Newlands, Cape Town. India's most successful wicketkeeper is just one dismissal away from becoming only the fourth wicketkeeper to record 400 dismissals in ODIs. India also have a chance to register a 3-0 lead in a bilateral series against South Africa for the first time.

Here are some of the things to look forward to in India v/s South Africa 3rd ODI:

# Dhoni has effected 399 dismissals so far (294 catches, 105 stumpings) so far and he is only behind Sri Lanka's Kumar Sangakkara (482), Australia's Adam Gilchrist (472) and South Africa's Mark Boucher (424) in the list.

# MS Dhoni also needs 98 runs to complete 10,000 ODI runs. He will be the 12th player to reach this landmark and the 4th Indian after Tendulkar (18,426), Ganguly (11,363) & Dravid (10,889).

# Virat Kohli has scored 54 international centuries. One more will take him to 5th in the list of the most prolific centurymakers in international cricket behind Tendulkar (100), Ponting (71), Sangakkara (63) & Kallis (62). He currently shares the 5th spot level with Mahela Jayawardene and Hashim Amla.

# Virat Kohli also needs one more catch to go past Jonty Rhodes to the 3rd spot among non-wicketkeepers for most catches in India-South Africa ODIs. Graeme Smith (19) sits on top of the tree with this one, followed by Rahul Dravid (17).

# India has a chance to register three ODI wins in a bilateral series against South Africa for the first time and thereby take an unassailable 0-3 lead in this six-match series. India has never recorded three ODI wins in a bilateral series against the Proteas.

# Ajinkya Rahane (2,901) is just 99 runs away from becoming the 20th Indian and 148th overall to reach the 3,000-run mark.

# With Quinton de Kock ruled out of the remainder of India's tour and as the only wicketkeeper in the squad, the Pretoria-born Klaasen looks set to make his international debut on Wednesday. If he plays, he will become the 125th ODI player for South Africa.

South Africa lead India by 45-31 in the overall head-to-head matches. It also has a 21-7 win-loss record on home soil against the Men in Blue, with two no-results in 30 one-day internationals.

The two teams have faced each other three times at this venue, with the home side, again, holding a 2-1 edge on the visitor; India, however, won the sides' last meeting here, back in 2011. South Africa has won 28 of its 33 ODI matches at the Newlands.

Teams batting first have won 79.31 per cent (23) of the day-night ODI matches played here (29).
