Former India captain MS Dhoni turned 37 on Saturday. 

Dhoni, who made his debut for India back in 2004, is currently in England as part of India's UK tour. The right-handed batsman played his 500th international match on Friday. While Dhoni is still a part of the India's limited overs sides, he hung his boots from the longer format in 2014.

# MS Dhoni is the only captain to have won all three big ICC trophies - 2007 World T20, 2011 World Cup and 2013 ICC Champions Trophy. He also took India to the top of ICC Test rankings. 

# MS Dhoni is the third most successful wicketkeeper in international cricket. He has sent back 780 people in 500 games. Mark Boucher of South Africa (998) and Adam Gilchrist of Australia (905) are ahead of him.

# Dhoni has most stumpings by any wicketkeeper in international cricket. He has effected 178 stumpings so far. 

# He is most successful wicketkeeper in T20Is with 82 dismissals so far.

 

# MS Dhoni scored his first ODI and Test hundreds against Pakistan. He scored 148 on both occasions.

# MS Dhoni has scored 217 sixes in ODI cricket so far. He tops the list of Indian players and is fourth among all international cricketers in this regard. He has also hit most sixes as a captain.

# Dhoni holds the record of scoring the most number of runs without scoring a half century. He scored over 1000 runs without scoring a fifty. 

# Dhoni has scored most centuries by any batsman batting at no. 7. He has scored two centuries at this position- against Pakistan and Africa XI both at Chepauk in Chennai.

 

# Dhoni holds the record for bowling the most number of times for a wicketkeeper. He has bowled 9 times in total in his career. Dhoni took his first international wicket against West Indies when he dismissed Travis Dowlin in 2009.
