In the case involving the domestic dispute between fast bowler Mohammad Shami and his wife Hasin Jahan, the latter has filed a case of domestic violence against the cricketer and others in Alipore court, news agency ANI has reported.

Earlier, Shami's wife accused him of cheating on her and torturing her, mentally and physically, for more than two years.

Hasin Jahan, shared a series of photos and screenshots of the fast bowler's alleged extramarital affair on her Facebook wall. The images include Shami posing with women and his reported chats with them.

“Whatever I have posted is just the tip of the iceberg. Shami’s acts are far more heinous. He has relationships with multiple women,” Jahan alleged.

In a response, Shami tweeted, "Hi. I'm Mohammad Shami. Ye jitna bhi news hamara personal life ke bare may chal raha hai, ye sab sarasar jhut hai, ye koi bahut bada humare khilap sajish hai or ye mujhe Badnam karne or mera game kharab karne ka kosis ki ja rahi hai. (All these allegations about my personal life are lies. This is a very big conspiracy against me. It's an attempt to defame me and hurt my game)"

Shami even claimed that his wife Hasin Jahan had kept him in the dark about an earlier marriage and the subsequent separation, and the fact that she had originally introduced her children as her sister’s kids. Her lawyer Zakir Hussain then said the pacer should back his claims with evidence.

In an interview with DNA, Jahan even alleged that Shami insisted that she has physical relationship with his brother.

An FIR has been lodged against Shami on Friday after a written complaint was filed by the fast bowler's wife. The FIR has been registered against Shami and his four other family members in Kolkata's Jadavpur police station under several Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections, including section 498A, which amounts to cruelty to a woman by her husband or his relatives.

The other charges recorded against Shami are under Section 307 - attempt to murder, Section 323 - punishment for voluntarily causing hurt, Section 376 - rape, Section 506 - criminal intimidation, Section 328 and Section 34.

Jahan had alleged that Shami abused her physically and mentally and was also involved in several extra-marital affairs. However, Shami has refuted all the allegation and said that someone was misleading his wife.

Talking to the media, Shami said, "Hasin and her family have been saying that we will sit and sort out all issues, but I don't know who has been misleading her. As far as allegation of compromising my performance while playing for the country is concerned, I would rather die than do something like this," he added.
