One of the oldest competitions in world of football, FA Cup action returns on January 5 (January 6 in India). The FA Cup 2017-18 third round will kick off with two big fixtures- while Liverpool take on Everton in Merseyside derby, Manchester United welcome Derby County to Old Trafford.

Liverpool v/s Everton

Time: 1:25 am IST 

Date: Saturday January 6 (in India)

Virgil van Dijk, Liverpool's record signing, may make his debut as a Red on Friday. However, two of Liverpool's biggest names Mohamed Salah and Philippe Coutinho are set to miss the match due to groin and thigh injury, respectively. Captain Jordan Henderson is also out with a hamstring injury alongwith defender Alberto Moreno (ankle injury).

Ross Barkley, among impeding transfer rumours, could make a return for Everton. However, Leighton Baines, Ramiro Funes Mori and Seamus Coleman are out of the match with injuries.

By drawing 1-1 in December's Premier League meeting, Liverpool equalled their longest unbeaten run against Everton of 15 games. Jurgen Klopp's side are unbeaten at Anfield in all competitions in 2017-18 (W9, D6), scoring 37 goals and conceding eight.

They have gone 16 games unbeaten in all competitions, their best run under manager Jurgen Klopp.

Manchester United v/s Derby

Jesse Lingard will be a key player for Manchester United. However, Michael Carrick, Ashley Young, Antonio Valencia are going miss out due to injuries. Striker Romelu Lukaku and midfielder Marouane Fellaini, are fit and could be on the bench. 

The Red Devils ended a four-game winless run when they defeated Everton 1-0 on New Year's Day and Jose Mourinho will be keen for his players to build on that.
