Indian Premier League's Kolkata Knight Riders are the only team in the league who are without a captain at present. While other teams seem to have sorted out the issue- KKR are still looking for a suitable name to lead them after not retaining Gautam Gambhir in the auction.

One of the names doing the rounds is Chris Lynn- one of the players retained by KKR in this year's IPL auction. The Australian opener also seems to be warming up to the idea.

Chris Lynn has said that he would love to captain the Knight Riders.

Since then, speculations have been rife about who should be leading the franchise. While the management is yet to announce a candidate, coach Jacques Kallis had recently hinted that Lynn could be one of the players to lead the side. Kallis told the Press Trust of India this week that Lynn is "one of the candidates" to take over the captaincy

In an interview with cricket.com.au, Lynn was asked whether he was open to captaining the IPL side, to which he said, “I’d love to, I’d jump at the opportunity.”

“We’ve got a really good group at Kolkata. The coaching staff, Simon Katich, Jacques Kallis, Heath Streak … I can relate (easily to) them. But there’s a couple of boys that have been in the IPL for 10 years so you can’t ignore their experience, especially in their own backyard,” he said.

“I’m still learning the game over there but if given the nod then I’d jump at the chance,” Lynn added.

Chris Lynn has captained Brisbane Heat in Big Bash League season 5. He had also captained Australia A in a one-day series against South Africa A and India A in 2016.
