Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was in Mumbai on Thursday to visit Chabad House where he paid tribute to victims of the 26/11 terror attack.

During his trip, Netanyahu made a special mention of India's historic cricket World Cup triumph in 1983. Coming into final as rank underdogs, Kapil Dev's side had created history by winning India's maiden World Cup.

"India also knows the value of competition and the glory of competition. How many of you know who won the 1983 World Cup’ If you were not in London then you must be on streets honking when India defeated West Indies. That is competition," said Netanyahu.

Earlier on Thursday, Indian captain Virat Kohli won the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for Cricketer of the Year, ICC ODI Cricketer of the Year, and was also named the skipper of the ICC Test and ODI Teams of the Year.

"It means a lot to me to win the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy, for becoming the ICC Cricketer of the Year 2017, and also the ICC ODI Player of the Year " said Kohli. "I won that award back in 2012 also but thie is the first time I'm winning the Sir Garfield Sobers trophy and it's a huge honour for me.

"It's probably the biggest award we have in cricket and two Indians winning it back to back makes it all the more special. Last time it was Ash (Ravichandran Ashwin) and this time it's me. I'm really, really honoured and I want to thank the ICC for recognising all the hard work we all put in for our respective sides. I want to congratulate all the other winners also for tonight's occasion."

Meanwhile, Netanyahu also met top Indian CEOs and head honchos for a power breakfast during his visit to Mumbai. While addressing the Indian CEO's in Mumbai at a business forum, Netanyahu said, "Future belongs to those who innovate. Our job is to encourage you to innovate. The partnership between India and Israel is doing wonders".

Netanyahu arrived in Mumbai earlier on Thursday from Ahmedabad. He was received at the airport by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and senior officials.
