IPL 2019: KXIP remove Brad Hodge, Shane Warne to return as RR coach, claims report

Brad Hodge, head coach of Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Kings XI Punjab, has been asked to leave while Shane Warne is likely to be appointed as the head coach of Rajasthan Royals, accoring to a report. 

According to Mumbai Mirror, Ricky Ponting is likely to stay at Delhi Daredevils as their head coach. 

The report also said that Royal Challengers Bangalore's coaching staff, including Daniel Vettori, has been let go. It claimed that the RCB franchise will now be hire a team recommended by captain Virat Kohli. 

Brad Hodge was handed a contract for a period of three years at KXIP but has been let go after just one year. Under Hodge, Kings XI Punjab made a spectacular start to the IPL 2018 season. They won five of their first seven games. However, they then managed just one win in the next seven games to finish outside top four. 

However, two other former Australian players are slated to return to their franchise. 

According to the report, Shane Warne might be made the head coach of the Rajasthan Royals. Warne was associated with the franchise on their comeback in IPL 2018 in the role of Mentor. RR made it to the top four in IPL 2018 but lost in the eliminator.

The report also claimed that Ricky Ponting, head coach of Delhi Daredevils, will be staying with doubles Ds. He was roped in for a period of two years. Delhi Daredevils finished at the bottom with five wins in IPL 2018.
