There has been a suggestion to award more runs for bigger sixes.

Cricket is a game of bat v/s ball, batsman v/s bowler, runs v/s wickets. However, lately the game seems to be tilted in favour of the ones with the bat. Now, there has been one other suggestion that seems heavily in favour of the batsmen.
With the rise of T20 cricket, cricket has seen a lot of big hitting. However, with sixes sailing over the crowd and some even going out of the stadium, there has been a new kind suggestion- more runs for bigger sixes.
One of the advocates of this seems to be the Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni. After CSK's match against the Kolkata Knight Riders on Wednesday, the former Indian captain Dhoni made the off-hand proposal in a post-match interview.
"There were a lot of sixes, a lot of them went out of the stadium," Dhoni was quoted as saying by cricket.com.au.
"I feel the IPL needs to add two runs more every time you hit it out of the stadium."
Few days earlier, former Australia star Dean Jones has said that he would love to see a batsman get 8 runs if he hits a six more than 80 meters.
If a batsmen hits a 6 more than 80 meters... then it’s a 8! https://t.co/tNIWyUreAx

Asked by cricket.com.au what rule they'd like to amend ahead of sixth edition of the KFC Big Bash League in late 2016, Perth Scorchers spinner Ashton Agar and Adelaide Strikers batter Kelvin Smith were among those to suggest more runs for big sixes.
Agar said he'd award eight runs to sixes that travelled more than 100 metres, while Smith wanted nine runs for balls that go into the second tier of a stadium and 12 for 'upper-deckers'.
No wonder, the suggestion didn't go down so well with bowlers. Mumbai Indian pacer Mitchell McClenaghan came with an idea of his own.
"Yeah great idea - while your at it... if a stump gets knocked out of the ground or a catch gets taken one handed then the team loses 3 wickets," he wrote.

He got support from fellow pacer Dale Steyn too.
