Indian Premier League (IPL) may see players shifting teams in the middle of the tournament like international football leagues. Also, next year's IPL match could be scheduled to start at 7 pm, one hour ahead of usual timings for the tournament.

BCCI has sent a proposal to start the games an hour earlier to broadcasters Star India, said an Indian Express quoting IPL Chairman Rajeev Shukla.

According to the report, the idea to allow mid term transfers would allow teams struck by injuries to find a replacement and also allow players who are often benched due to non availability of slots in playing XI. Players who have played two or less matches after first 7 matches could be transferred to other teams, said the report.

“Every IPL owner agreed to have this in forthcoming season. It will give chance to those players who are good but are not getting opportunities to be part of playing XI of any IPL side,” the report quoted Shukla as saying.

Most IPL matches start at 8 pm with some of the games getting over after midnight. It’s inconvenient for the audience on the ground and those who watch on TV, spcially children.

These points will be finalised in the IPL governing council meeting in New Delhi on December 5, said Shukkla.
