IPL 2018 CSK v/s KXIP: Here's how Chennai Super Kings can finish top of table ahead of Sunrisers Hyderabad

Chennai Super Kings can climb to the top of the IPL 2018 points table at the end of the league match stage. CSK can over take Sunrisers Hyderabad if they beat KXIP by chasing the target in 17.4 overs. 

Chennai are bowling first in their final league match against KXIP. 

However, if Chennai Super Kings lose by more than 76 runs then Kolkata Knight Riders will climb to no. 2 in the table. Such a scenario will also mean that Kings XI Punjab will qualify for the IPL 2018 play-offs ahead of Rajasthan Royals.

KXIP need to be beat CSK by more than 53 runs to get into the top 4.

However, there is no much difference in finishing first or second in the IPL points table. Both teams get almost the same treatment in the knockout stage.

The top two teams of IPL 2018 points table will meet each other in the Qualifier 1 on Tuesday. The winner of the match will go directly to the IPL 2018 final while the loser will get one more chance. 

The team placed third and fourth in IPL 2018 points table will meet in the Eliminator on Wednesday, May 23. 

The winner of the match will enter the Qualifier 2, where they will clash with the losing side of Qualifier 1. That match will take place on Friday, May 25.

The winners of Qualifier 1 and Qualifier 2 will clash for the IPL 2018 trophy on Sunday, May 27.
