Ajinkya Rahane will be seen at No. 4 – his favourite position - in the batting order after being made the vice-captain for the two Tests matches against West Indies beginning on August 22.

The cricketer who is getting ready for the Caribbean tour had to shift base from Mumbai to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) due to rains, according to Hindustan Times.

“The rain in Mumbai meant I couldn’t train outdoors which is what I wanted and I think Bangalore is the best place to do that. I am also working on my fitness there,” said Rahane who spoke to reporters at the annual awards of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) in Kolkata.

However, the change in venue came in as a blessing in disguise as he could get a chance to train with Rahul Dravid.

“I am really happy he too is now in Bangalore,” he added.

While talking to the reporters, Rahane - who shared the stage with Sourav Ganguly - also spoke about his on-stage partnerships with CAB president. “Sourav Sir is a role model. As captain, he changed Indian cricket."

Speaking about the Windies - who are eighth in Test rankings - Rahane said they are “a dangerous and unpredictable team,” according to Hindustan Times.

“It is important to respect them, play our game as we’ve been playing especially in Test cricket and for me, it’s important to give my best,” said Rahane who didn’t take any questions on the World Cup.

Rahane will fly out for the West Indies on August 13.
