Gautam Gambhir is not happy with ‘lack of fight’ shown by Indian cricket team during the second Test match against England at Lord’s.

India managed to score only 237 runs in the whole match with scoring 107 and 130 runs in the first and second innings respectively. England won the match by an innings and 159 runs to take a 2-0 lead in the ongoing five-match series.

“The way we lost the Test match was very disturbing. There was no fight shown by the Indian batters. Yes, the conditions were a little difficult in both the innings, but you don’t expect this team to bundle out in three days," Gambhir said to Times of India.

"They should have shown some fight in the second session to take the game into the final day and anything could have happened from there on,” Gambhir added.

Gambhir said that it was possible for the Indian cricket team to stage a comeback in the series. However, he added that such a comeback seemed unlikely considering the performance so far.

He said that a draw was the more realistic result for India in the series now.

“India can make a comeback, but it is always difficult to make a comeback to win all the three games. They still have an opportunity to think about drawing the series. They can look to win 2 Tests out of the remaining 3 and then look at the way forward. They should take one Test match at a time,” he said.
