Virat Kohli remained unbeaten as India successfully chased Australia's target of 165 to win the third T20 International by six wickets and draw the three-match series 1-1 here Sunday.
Kohli's sublime 41-ball knock and his 60-run unbeaten stand with Dinesh Karthik (22 not out off 18) gave India the much needed series-levelling win ahead of the all-important Test series beginning December 6 at Adelaide.
The hosts, who had been struggling in the limited-overs formats prior to the India series, won the opening T20 by four runs while the second game was a washout, putting additional pressure on India who came to Oceania at the back of winning six T20 series in a row.
With Kohli remaining not out once again during India's chase meant the Indian skipper has continued with his exceptional chasing records in the T20Is - every time he’s been not out in a run-chase in T20Is, India have won the match.

Good news for Team India is that it’s not just Kohli, wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik is also fast earning a reputation as one of the most clinical finishers in the shortest format.
