Mahendra Singh Dhoni is enjoying a phenomenal 2017. Long in the line of fire for not being the player he once was, the multiple-World Cup winning captain has left his critics no choice but to eat up their words.

Be it his consistency with the bat, his exceptional skills as a glovesman, or his priceless inputs to skipper Virat Kohli, not many would be willing to doubt MSD's contributions in Team India's success off-late.

Dhoni's solid performances in India's victories in the West Indies and Sri Lanka, followed by a match-winning effort in the first ODI of the current series against Australia, have all but sealed the 34-year-old's spot for the 2019 ICC World Cup.

Reflecting on what the former India captain brings to the table, Aussie opener David Warner said he thinks Dhoni is enjoying his cricket at the moment. " I think we have all run out of superlatives. He is just quality, we all know what he brings to the team and I can't speak for him but what I see is him giving the captaincy to Virat...it looks like he is enjoying his cricket," Warner told India Today.

"He is loving being a part of this young, energetic group. That was the same with Ricky (Ponting) when I came into the Test setup. You could just see these guys, a new life is just born for them. It's great and I like seeing it."

The diminutive, yet explosive, left-hander also spoke about how long he thinks Dhoni can stick around at the international level: "He is a world class player and if the player feels he is not going the way he would have liked, I'm sure they would have upon themselves to step down. I think he is hitting the ball well and it looks like he is tinkering with his technique as well. I personally think he can go another two years."

India lead Australia 2-0 in the on-going five-match ODI series. The two teams will lock horns in the third ODI in Indore on Sunday.
