India A secured a big win as they defeated South Africa A by an innings and 30 runs in the the first four-day Test match at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Tuesday. 

Mohammed Siraj was the star for India with 5-wicket hauls in both innings. South Africa resumed their second innings on Tuesday at 99 for four still trailing India by 239 runs. They need to bat through the whole day avoid a defeat but they were all out for 308. 

Rudy Second played a patient innings of 94 runs off 214 balls while Zubayr Hamza scored 63 runs off 126 balls. It seemed that they may take their safety but India managed to wrap up the innings after tea on the last day. 

Earlier, India A had taken a lead of 338 runs in the first innings after restricting the visitors to 246 and then declaring at 584 for 8. The Indian innings saw sizeable contributions from most of the batsmen who got chances to play. 

Mayank Agarwal led the scoring with a double hundred scoring 220 runs off just 196 balls while Prithvi Shaw hit 136. The duo stitched a partnership of 277 for the first wicket.

Hanuma Vihari made 54 off 108 balls and Srikar Bharat scored 64 off 77 balls for India.
