India A vs New Zealand A, 1st unofficial Test: Prithvi Shaw, Mayank Agarwal, Hanuma Vihari hit fifties on Day 1

Young stars Prithvi Shaw (62), Mayank Agarwal (65) and Hanuma Vihari (86) hit half-centuries as India A team got the tour of New Zealand underway with an impressive 340/5 on Day 1 of the first unofficial Test against New Zealand A at Bay Oval, Mount Maunganui. 

Parthiv Patel was batting on 79 not out at stumps. However, senior players Murali Vijay (28) and Ajinkya Rahane (12) failed to make the most of the opportunity.

Shaw impressed again with another half-century while Mayank Agarwal also staked his claim to a Test squad with a fluent half-century. Hanuma Vihari looked to be the first Indian on the tour to bag a hundred but was eventually dismissed for 86. 

Blair Tickner took two wickets for the hosts while Kyle Jamieson, Doug Bracewell and Theo van Woerkom took one wicket each.
