South Africa won the second test match comfortably with newcomer Lungi Ngidi getting six-fer to destroy the Indian batting line-up in the second innings. Proteas won by 135 runs and also sealed the series in the process.

Many records were built in this keenly contested test but there was one, which its owner would be definitely not proud of. Cheteshwar Pujara now has the unwanted record of being the first Indian to get dismissed in the both innings of a test match.

While in the first innings, he was out for a duck trying a suicidal single, in the second innings he got out just when India needed him most. With Pathiv Patel playing a ball towards third man, Pujara tried to run a three. However, AB de Villiers' athletic throw from the deep was too good for Pujara who is clearly not the fastest among the Indians. Pujara was couple of inches short off the crease when South African keeper managed to dislodge the stumps. Pujara was run out for 19. In the process he became the 25th batsman in test history to be run out in both innings. In the last 18 years, no batsman has been run-out twice in a test. The last time it happened was with stylist Kiwi batter Stephen Fleming.
