Team India opener Rohit Sharma has started 2020 in flying form as he became the third-fastest cricketer to smash 9,000 ODI runs during India's third and final match against Australia on Sunday (January 19) in Bengaluru.
Before the match, Rohit only needed 4 more runs to achieve the feat to overtake skipper the 'Men In Blue' skipper Virat Kohli and South Africa's AB de Villiers.
Kohli reached the landmark score in 194 innings, with de Villiers bagging his in 205 innings.
Rohit reached the 9000-run feat in 216 innings, beat cricketing legends like Sourav Ganguly (228 innings), Sachin Tendulkar (235 innings) and Brian Lara 239 innings).

Earlier in the day, Australia won the toss and decided to bat first at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Sunday (January 19).
The visitors got off to a sticky start after losing both their openers, Aaron Finch and David Warner, early on in the match.
It was thanks to Australia's 'Mr. Reliable', Steve Smith, that the tourists managed to reach a total of 286/9 from their allocated 50 overs.
