India are aiming for the unique distinction of achieving number one status in all three formats of the game. India have already climbed to the top in ODI and Test cricket but to complete the 'Mission 111' they need to close in on the No.1 ranking in T20Is as well. However, a 1-1 draw in the series against Australia have not helped things for Team India. They remain at No. 5 in the ICC T20 rankings while Australia climb up to sixth spot.

After a splendid run in the ODIs against West Indies, Sri Lanka and Australia, Virat Kohli-led Indian team has grabbed the top spot in the ICC ODI Team Rankings. The Men in Blue had already become the World No. 1 in Test cricket, and still are.

A 3-0 whitewash of the Aussies would have resulted in India climbing up to grab the second spot. India won the first match in Ranchi, but lost the second while the third one ended in a wash-out. Thus India, who started at No. 5 ahead of the series, remained at the same spot with 116 rating points.

New Zealand stand atop with 125 rating points followed by Pakistan with 121.

India next welcome the table leaders for a 3 match T20 series while Pakistan play Sri Lanka in a similar series. Pakistan can go top of the charts if they manage a 3-0 whitewash over Sri Lanka while New Zealand finish on the losing side against India.

However, India can reach the top if they win all 3 T20 internationals against the Kiwis and Pakistan lose at least one match against Sri Lanka.

India-New Zealand T20I series will start off on November 1. Prior to that, the two teams will also face-off in a three-match ODI series starting October 22.
