Team India cricketer Rohit Sharma has revealed the lowest point of his playing career.

Sharma, during a live stream with former England cricketer Kevin Pietersen, got a bit nostalgic during the conversation and revealed why he felt gutted on not being picked in the Indian 2011 World Cup squad.

"Not getting picked for the 2011 World Cup squad, that was the saddest moment as it was happening in our own backyard, the final was played at my home ground," Sharma said.

However, Rohit added how it was down to his own poor performances and mistakes that he did not make it to the squad.

"It was due to my performances, I was not at my best," Indian vice-captain claimed when asked why he did not make the 2011 World Cup squad.

During the 2019 ICC World Cup, Rohit became the first player to smash five tons in a single edition of the tournament.

Earlier this year, Sharma picked up an injury during India's T20I series against New Zealand, and as a result, was ruled out from the ODI and Tests series against the same opposition.

After the first ODI was called off due to rain, the remaining two matches were called off due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The virus has brought all sports activities to a halt and players are practising social distancing and self-isolation during the pandemic. The World Health Organisation (WHO) and the governments all around are urging people to stay at home.

The rapid spread of Coronavirus worldwide has started seeing its serious impacts.

India so far has 724 confirmed cases of the coronavirus, as per the Health Ministry, while 17 people have died due to the highly contagious virus.
