After numerous reports emerged that the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) privately made a proposition to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to play one of the Test matches in Pakistan and the other in Bangladesh, BCB have now publicly denied those claims.

BCB chief executive officer Nizamuddin Chowdhury ridiculed all the alleged reports and said he is completely unaware of BCB putting through any such requests to the PAK cricketing body.

Chowdhury also claimed that the 'Bengal Tigers' will only make the final call about whether to take part in the proposed Test series against Pakistan after the two nations' three-match T20I series is done.

“I am not aware of any such proposal. We (BCB) still stand for our previous decision. We have principally agreed to play the T20I series in Pakistan, subject to clearance from the government. Following the T20I series, we will assess if we can go ahead in playing the Test series in Pakistan,” Nizamuddin Chowdhury said.

The two-match Test series between Pakistan and Bangladesh is part of the International Cricket Council's (ICC) ongoing World Test Championship (WTC) so if Bangladesh decided to back out of the series, PCB might put an official complaint to the world cricketing body.

However, BCB president Nazmul Hasan is not too worried about it at the moment and said, "We are not worried about this [if the matter is taken to the ICC meeting]. The decision is ours. We have to make our decision whether we want to go to Pakistan or not."

"We have to think about our players and coaching staff. So we are not worried about other things. We didn't say that we won't go. But since it is the first tour to Pakistan in years, there are some fears.”

"We don't want to force anyone to tour Pakistan. We have been facing several issues before finalizing the tour of Pakistan," he added.

"There are a few numbers of stakeholders. We have to respect the opinions of every party before going to play a full series in Pakistan. At this moment, I don't think we have a chance to tour Pakistan to play a Test series.”
