Yet another allegation against Indian cricketer Mohammed Shami by his wife Hasin Jahan.
After claiming that her case is similar to the horrific Kathua rape and murder case, Hasin Jahan, wife of Indian cricketer Mohammed Shami, has now said that the fast-bowler fooled the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) by fudging his age.
In a Facebook post, which she later deleted, Jahan shared Shami's 'real birth certificate' and said that the cricketer lied about his age and tricked everyone. Shami, who plays for Delhi Daredevils in the Indian Premier League, claims his birth year is 1990, but the document shared by Jahan shows that the pacer was born in 1982.
“See friends, the real birth year of Shami Ahmed. He made a fake birth certificate and has fooled everyone by showing his birth year as 1990. He fooled BCCI, CAB and also public by making a fake birth certificate that allowed him to play Under-22 cricket. Imagine the injustice done to a genuine 22-year-old cricketer who was denied a place in under-22 team because of Shami,” Jahan wrote in her Facebook post.
Meanwhile, Jahan, who filed a case of domestic violence and infidelity against Shami, has demanded a monthly compensation of Rs 10 lakh per month for the interim period when the case is on. She has demanded Rs 7 lakh as family maintenance while Rs three lakh per month for the child.
According to her lawyer, the court has understood the significance of the litigation and has hence decided to hear it on urgent basis. He said that the court has also asked Shami to clarify his point immediately.
Earlier in March, Jahan had met West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in connection with the case. Mamata had met the cricketer's wife at the state Assembly for around 15 minutes and heard Jahan's complaint against Shami. Stating that she was content with the meeting, Jahan had told reporters. ''She listened to me. The Chief Minister was kind and empathetic. She has given assurances of support," she said.
Apart from the allegations of domestic violence and extra-marital affair, she had also alleged that the cricketer had taken money from a Pakistani woman named Alishba on the insistence of an England-based businessman, Mohammad Bhai.
Jahan had also alleged that the pacer had forced her to have physical relationship with his brother. She had even claimed that the cricketer’s mother and brother tortured her and wanted to kill her. Cricketer Shami and his family have denied all the allegations made against them by Jahan, who had filed a complaint against them at the Jadavpur Police Station in Kolkata.
