Happy Birthday Sunil Gavaskar: Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag lead wishes for original 'Dabanng' of Indian cricket

Sunil Gavaskar, one of the world's greatest ever batsmen, turned 69 on Tuesday. Wishes poured in for the legandary batsman also known as the 'little master'.

India's best opening pair of Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag were among the first to wish the leagandary opening batsman.

Sachin Tendulkar posted a tweet in Marathi congratulating Gavaskar and wishing a great year.

Sehwag showered also praises on the legendary cricketer in his own unique style, saying the Little Master was a ‘dabanng’ who taught “a- not very high on confidence generation” to be always courageous.

Sehwag tweeted “Today, #SunnySideUp ,for a man who taught a- not very high on confidence generation , ‘Fusfusana Band-India bano Dabanng’. He was truly a Dabanng for his courage to face bowlers who looked like killing you,without any fear and protective gear. Happy Birthday Sunil Gavaskar.”

VVS Laxman and Mohammad Kaif also wished Gavaskar on his birthday.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) also extended their best wishes.

Sunil ‘Sunny’ Gavaskar played 125 Tests for India, scoring 10122 runs, and 3092 runs in 108 ODI appearances. He once held the record of highest number of hundreds in Test cricket which was later broken by Sachin Tendulkar in 2005.
