We're loving the camaraderie between Bhuvneshwar Kumar and his wife Nupur Nagar.
One of the hardest working Indian cricketers, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, was made the vice-captain of Indian Premier League (IPL) outfit Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) recently. The pacer got the promotion after Australian David Warner was received a one-year ban.
Bhuvi surely deserved this honour as he has been a phenomenal performer for the Indian cricket team over the past couple of years. The fast-bowler, who is a part of the BCCI's Grade A+ player contract list, is known for being a shy, soft-spoken fellow.
Kumar's wife Nupur Nagar, though, made quite an interesting revelation about the 'swing ling' recently. Speaking to The Quint, she said that being married to a cricketer is difficult at times because of all the travelling that's involved.
Nagar said that the duo know each other since she was 11 and he 13. Looking at her husband with a playful smile, she revealed that Bhuvi was more decent earlier. "He was more decent and innocent earlier, now he's become smarter," said Nagar. Bhuvi was prompt in replying: "That's called maturity." Asked if Bhuvi is as polite in real life as he is on camera, Nagar said smilingly: "No, that's the public appearance."
Well, all we'll say is it's wonderful to see the star Indian pacer share such a fun camaraderie with his wife. It's not very often you get to see Bhuvi stumped this way.
In the fourth match of IPL 11, SRH comfortably defeated Rajasthan Royals (RR) with 9 wickets to spare, at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Monday.
Shikhar Dhawan led the SRH to victory with his unbeaten 77, which included 13 fours and 1 six. He was well supported by skipper Kane Williamson, who also remained not out on 36.
Chasing a low target of 126, the SRH did not get a desired start as Wriddhiman Saha was dismissed by Jaydev Unadkat in the second over. However, Dhawan made his intentions clear from the get go.
To stop Dhawan's juggernaut, RR's captain Ajinkya Rahane used seven different bowlers, but to no avail the southpaw and the New Zealander chased the target in 15.5 overs with 25 balls to spare.
Earlier, a disciplined bowling by the SRH limited the RR to 125/9 in their 20 overs. Siddarth Kaul stood out with his stellar performance of 2/17 in four overs.
