Australia won the fifth match of the T20I tri series on Friday beating New Zealand by 5 wickets. Australia completed the highest chase in T20I histroy thanks to  D'Arcy Short’s 44-ball 76 and David Warner’s 24-ball 59 after Martin Guptill's century has taken New Zealand to a huge total.

The run-feast at Eden Park meant that there were many records broken on the day. Here is a look at some of highlights of the record-breaking match:

# There were 488 runs scored in just in 38.5 overs. New Zealand had made 243 runs in their 20 overs but Australia managed to chase it down in with seven balls to spare as they scored 245 runs in 38.5 overs.

# Australia's 245 in 38.5 overs is now the highest completed chase in T20I history. While Short and Warner got them going, Glenn Maxwell (31 off 14) and Aaron Finch (36* off 14) took them home. West India held the previous record after scoring 236/6 against South Africa in 2015.

# 32 sixes were hit in the match equaling the record for most number sixes hit in a single T20I.

# Martin Guptill scored his 2nd T20I century. With his 58th run, Guptill overtook Brendon McCullum to become the highest run-scorer in T20I cricket. He now has 2188 runs in 73 T20Is while McCullum has scored 2140 runs.

# Guptill's hundred was the fasted T20I century by any New Zealand batsman. He got there off 49 deliveries again overtaking McCullum who had done it in 50 balls.

# Guptill has now joined the club of players with two T20I centuries. The club include Brendon McCullum, Chris Gayle, Evin Lewis, Rohit Sharma, Glenn Maxwell. Colin Munro is the only player so far to have scored three T20I centuries.

# New Zealand’s Ben Wheeler bowled the second most expensive spell in T20I cricket. Before he was taken out of the attack for bowling two waist-high full toss deliveries in the same over, he had conceded 64 runs in 3.1 overs. The record is 69 runs in 4 overs conceded by Barry McCarthy of Ireland against Afghanistan.
