Australia may have dominated world cricket in last few years, but the World Cup holders now have slumped to their lowest ODI ranking in 34 years.

England have retained the top spot in the latest ICC ODI rankings while Australia have fallen to number 6. The last time Australia were placed at the sixth position was in 1984.

Australia are currently playing against England in a five-match ODI series where they have already suffered two successive defeats in the first two encounters.

Australia have lost 13 out of their 15 ODIs since 2016-17.

Pakistan have overtaken Australia as England, India, South Africa and New Zealand form the top four spots.

With 122 rating points in their account, India are nine ratings ahead of third-placed South Africa, who have a rating of 113.

New Zealand, with a 112 rating, sit at the fourth spot but they are in danger of going down soon as the international season for Kane-Williamson led team starts in the month of October.
