Wedding bells continue to ring for Bangladesh cricketers as pace bowler Mustafizur Rahman tied the knot on Friday (22 March) with Samia Parvin.

Parvin who also happens to be his cousin is a psychology student from Dhaka University. The wedding ceremony took place in the presence of both the families at Hadipur in Satkhira.

Mustafizur’s brother, Mahfuzur Rahman Mithu said, “Mustafizur was really upset after coming home, following the incident in New Zealand. That’s why we decided to get him married. It was my mother’s decision. The wedding reception will take place after the World Cup.”

Off-spinner Mehidy Hasan also married his long-term sweetheart Rabeya Akhter Priti on Thursday (21 March) in a ceremony in the southwestern Bangladeshi city of Khulna.

"I am starting a new journey in my life today. I would like to request the blessings of all my fans and well-wishers for my new beginning. May the Rahmat of Allah always shower upon us," Mehidy said in his official Facebook page.

These cricketers recently escaped a deadly mosque attack in New Zealand. The members of the Bangladesh Test cricket team touring New Zealand were driven up to a Christchurch mosque as the shooting began.

Team manager Khaled Mashud had said that if they had arrived just a few minutes later the team could have been caught up in the massacre.
