It has been 45 years since megastar Rajinikanth has been ruling over the Indian cinema. Fans and followers from all across have been sharing images and videos to celebrate #45YearsOfRajinismCDP. 

The hype is so real that even the Indian Premier League (IPL) side Chennai Super Kings (CSK) also got involved to wish the iconic South star on his special day.

Addressing all the wishes on social media, Rajinikanth took to Twitter and wrote a long post expressing his thoughts over this landmark day.

"On this day, which marks the forty - fifth anniversary of my theatrical journey, my heartfelt thanks go out to all the good hearts who greeted me and to the fan base of the gods who keep me alive," he said in a tweet.

Responding to this, CSK's official Twitter handle dropped a cheeky response with a photo of both Rajini and MS Dhoni striking a similar pose.

Both the above-mentioned individuals are huge personalities in the South, with fans often referring to them as 'Thala' as a gesture of respect and love.
