Virat Kohli and his run out saga look to have continued and this time, it cost the wicket of India’s No. 3 batsman Chesteshwara Pujara at the most frustrating situation.

After a rain delay, the match finally started Friday afternoon. The gloomy and cloudy weather was the perfect platform offered to James Anderson to expose Indian top-order’s struggles against a moving ball. As expected, he removed the Indian openers, Murali Vijay and KL Rahul before the rain returned.

The match halted for a couple of minutes before it resumed to only making things worse for the tourists.

With soft hands, Pujara flicked the ball in front of point and signaled Kohli for a single. The Indian skipper responded positively and then Kohli turned his back on the helpless Pujara gifting England an easy runout and wasting a precious Indian wicket.

As soon as England’s debutant Ollie Pope removed the bails, it started pouring again. It was a total waste of wicket there for India.

According to statistics, in Tests Kohli has been involved in runouts for five times and out of which, he has run his partner out four times.

Here are five other instances, across the formats, where Kohli got his partner runout:

Pujara, who got run out two times in the last four matches, was again on the receiving end on Friday.
