The last edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) saw Mumbai Indians (MI) becoming the most successful side in the history of the cash-rich tournament on May 12, 2019.
They beat Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by a run in a last-ball thriller to become the first team to win the IPL 4 times.
CSK also had the opportunity to win the IPL crown for a record 4th time as they had won the title in 2010, 2011 and 2018.
As for MI, they had first won the IPL in 2013 before reclaiming the title in 2015 and winning it again in 2017.
Rohit Sharma, the current captain of MI has lead the team to 4 IPL titles and is the only player to win the IPL as many as 5 times. He was earlier part of the Deccan Chargers (DC), which won the 2nd edition in 2009.
Meanwhile, David Warner of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) won the Orange Cap while Imran Tahir (CSK) picked up the Purple Cap with 26 wickets.

4. IPL 2020 Schedule
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in its Governing Council meeting of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has decided to hold the 13th edition of the cash-rich tournament from September 19 to November 10.

The tournament will see matches starting from 7:30 PM IST and will also witness 10 doubleheaders.
Speaking to IANS, a BCCI official stated that it was decided to take the IPL into another week and that will see the final being played on November 10.
5. IPL title sponsor VIVO pulls out of tournament
VIVO - who were the title sponsors for the Indian Premier League (IPL) - have pulled out for this year's edition. But the company has not terminated its sponsorship agreement.

VIVO had paid Rs 2199 crore for a five-year contract in 2018, and the BCCI had announced that all sponsors were being retained.
However, VIVO has pulled out following criticism on social media in the backdrop of the violent clashes between Indian and Chinese troops in Ladakh in June.
