Virat Kohli, Ravichandran Ashwin, Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni were among many other players on the nominations list which ICC announced on Tuesday
The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Tuesday announced a new set of awards to presented this time. These are a set of Decade Awards, for players who have dominated in the different formats of cricket and the game in general for the past 10 years.
Indian skipper Virat Kohli and off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin were the two players from India, who were nominated for ICC Men's Player of the Decade Award.
Apart from these two, England test skipper Joe Root, Australia's Steve Smith, South African batsman AB de Villiers, Kane Williamson from New Zealand and former Sri Lankan wicket-keeper batsman Kumar Sangakkara also received the nominations for the award.
Virat Kohli received the highest number of nominations across categories as he received as many as five in total. Among other categories, Rohit Sharma, MS Dhoni were other players from India to get a nomination in their name. Legends of India's women's cricket, Mithali Raj and Jhulan Goswami also featured in the nominations list.
